Founded August 15, 1985

     In 1983, Venerable Aloysius Schwartz received the Ramon Magsaysay Award for International Understanding for his outstanding charity services in Korea. In Manila, he met H.E. Jaime Cardinal Sin and he was invited to start his charity programs in the Philippines. 

        In 1985,    Venerable Aloysius Schwartz established his community and the Boystown and Girlstown Complex in Sta. Mesa, Manila to care for and educate children from poor families. They also provided free food and medical services to over a thousand tubercular patients at a government hospital. In 1990, with the urging of H. E. Ricardo Cardinal Vidal, the Boystown and Giristown program was extended to Cebu.

    To date, four (4) campuses in the Philippines accommodate an average of 10,000 indigent young boys and girls annually. These are provided gratuitously with food, clothing, shelter, quality high school education with intensive vocational training.       

         Girlstown: Industrial Sewing Fashion Design, and Bookkeeping, Electronics, Mechatronics, Technical Drafting, Bread Pastry and AutoCAD, Health Care Services, Call Center Training;

           Boystown: Electricity and Mechatronics, Machine Shop and Welding, Automechanics and Driving, Computer Technology/AutoCAD, Mechanical Processes, and CNC Machine operation. 

           Other skills are also taught to cope with the job market demand. Spiritual formation is an integral part of their education. Graduates are assisted to find jobs so that they become self-reliant and be of help to their families. 72,251 have graduated from these programs and are now gainfully employed self-reliant and good citizens of the country.
