We began as a humble community of devoted Christian women, founded on the Feast of the Assumption in 1964 by Venerable Aloysius Schwartz in Busan, Korea. What started small has blossomed into a worldwide mission of love and service. Through the invitation of Church leaders and government authorities, our congregation has grown to embrace the Philippines, Mexico, Guatemala, Brazil, Honduras, Tanzania and Kenya.
We are called to be “contemplatives in action”—women who unite the spirit of Mary at prayer with the service of Martha in daily life. Each day, our active apostolate is nourished by three hours of prayer and contemplation, grounding us in Christ while sending us forth to serve the poor, the young, and the vulnerable.
On March 2, 2000, the Most Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, through the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life, granted us the decree recognizing our congregation as a Religious Institute of Pontifical Right.
