Founded May 13, 2002
In the year 2000 H. E. Jose Cardinal Falcão invited the Sisters of Mary to establish their charity works the archdiocese of Brasilia D.F. With the assistance of the city government, a 25 hectare e-land was donated and construction of a Medical and Dental Clinic was completed in 2002, serving the poorest of the poor sick people in the vicinity. The clinics serve 50-75 outpatients and also the children from the Girlstown daily.
The Girlstown complex is composed of a 7-storey building and a gymnasium, a 3-storey workshop, and a swimming pool, which currently serves in-house 993 girls from grade 7 up to high school with specialization in Nursing Aide and Executive Secretarial Courses, Nutrition and Dietetics and Dental Hygienist and Dressmaking. Almost 4,000 have graduated and are already working.
In 2008, a Medical and Dental Clinic, a Day Care Center, and an Elementary School were built in Sao Bernardo, Grande Sao Paolo. Only day classes are offered due to some restrictions of boarding schools in the area. A few years ago, the government already offered free medical services to all their constituents, thus our medical clinics only serve our students. Both places continue offering Daycare and Kindergarten to the poor children coming from the neighboring communities.
